OUR FARM STORY - part 2
/Before we moved to Westerlook, I spent a lot of time in the kitchen and garden. I always enjoyed growing my own food, and doing my best to use whole ingredients in my cooking and baking. I couldn’t wait to plant a huge garden, raise our own beef and get a family milk cow! AND there were a handful of old buildings that would be perfect for a little design studio. The possibilities seemed endless on this beautiful, charming, old 47 acre farm!
We moved in January of 2019. The girls finished school in McMinnville and we were undecided about school in fall of 2019. Would they go to Carlton? Stay in McMinnville? Homeschool? And then on August 14th, 2019, I received a phone call from one of my mom’s best friends. I can remember every detail of that afternoon.
The ladies were all quilting at Linda’s and Linda called me, my mom had ‘fallen’ off her chair and she needed me to call my dad, and come right over. They had called the ambulance, but things didn’t look good. My mom died of a brain aneurysm that afternoon, and went to be with Jesus. That reminder of how limited our time on earth is, has helped to shape me into the mom/wife/friend/business owner that I am today.
